What's New For the 2019 Toyota Sienna?

Traditionally, the minivan has admittedly not had a reputation of being the most stylish, head-turning vehicle on the road. But this year, Toyota makes skeptics think a little differently about this popular vehicle class. This year, the Sienna is packed with plenty of technology on the inside. As Toyota tends to do, it also leads the way in safety, with a top-notch score of a five-star safety rating. The Sienna seats up to eight passengers, and a variety of seating configurations let you maximize space for passengers or cargo when needed. With the second and third-row seats down, the Sienna provides up to 150 cubic feet of space, which is five inches more than the second-best competitor in its class. Elegant exterior touches and high-end materials on the inside make the Sienna a vehicle that commands attention.

2019 Sienna Trims & Features

There are seven trim levels of the Sienna in 2019, including two variants with auto access seats. The base model is called the L. Unlike other base models, which admittedly can sometimes be bare-bones, the L is quite the opposite. This trim features a seven-inch display screen equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to play all your favorites tunes on demand. The advanced infotainment system also connects to your smartphone so that you can get directions, get messages, and make or take calls. A second screen, which is a 4.2-inch multi-information display screen, gives real-time information about the vehicle's performance to the driver. Other standard amenities in this trim are a three-zone climate control with a cabin air filter to purify the air and a backup camera to help you reverse safely and confidently. The base model comes with Toyota's signature Safety Sense package.

Next, the LE has available all-wheel drive, and its infotainment system has a more advanced sound system. A variation, called the LE with Auto Access Seat, has a lift-up power-rotating seat in the back row and sliding side doors. A power liftgate completes its standard features. The SE gives you the feel of a sportier ride with a sporty instrumentation panel that has a multi-information display. The infotainment system is enhanced in this model with a navigation system and a premium audio sound system. Also standard on the SE are daytime LED running lights. The XLE gives you a more luxurious ride with heated, leather-trimmed seats. This vehicle also has an available entertainment center for passengers with Blu-Ray. As with the LE, there is also a variation with an auto access seat. Last but not least, the Limited packs in the works with higher-grade leather seats and heated front seats with multiple heat settings. The infotainment system has built-in navigation and a premier JBL audio system. A front and rear parking assist feature, powered by sonar, completes its standard amenities.

2019 Toyota Sienna Horsepower

There is one engine in the Toyota Sienna in this year's lineup. In 2019, the engine under the hood is a capable 3.6L, six-cylinder engine that produces a maximum of 296 HP at 6,600 RPM and up to 263 LB-FT of torque at 4,700 RPM. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission to provide plenty of speed and power. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional in certain trim levels.

With all the standard and optional safety features that it offers, the Toyota Sienna has rightfully earned a five-star safety crash test rating from the federal government. Its standout safety feature is the Toyota Safety Sense package with radar-operated cruise control to maintain a safe following distance from the car in front, automatic high beams, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, and lane-keep assist. Eight airbags and a panoramic camera are other notable safety features in this year's Sienna.
