The 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser reshapes its front fascia with a new grille, redesigned headlights, and LED Daytime Running Lights on the upper trim levels. LED brake lights also highlight the rear, which sports a reshaped bumper. Adding to exterior color choices are Avant-Garde Bronze metallic and Midnight Emerald Blue. Toyota Safety Sense⢠P is added to provide protective features. Inside, the infotainment system gets a larger screen, the instrument cluster now includes a 4.2-inch central screen, and the updated steering wheel.
The 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser comes in only one trim level that lights up the road with LED projector-beam headlights that automatically come on and off and includes headlight cleaners. To bring in views of the clouds and the stars, a power tilting and sliding moonroof has a sunshade and one-touch open/close. When the weather turns fowl, rain-sensing aerodynamic variable intermittent wipers clear the front view. Seating for up to eight passengers is made more comfortable with a four-zone automatic front and rear climate control. To provide information and entertainment, the Entune⢠Premium JBLĀ® Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite features a 9-inch high-resolution multimedia touch-screen with SiriusXMĀ® Satellite Radio, HD Radioā¢, hands-free phone capability, and 14 JBLĀ® speakers that include a subwoofer. The heated and ventilated front row allows 10-way power adjustments for the driver and three-position memory. The heated second row folds in a 40/20/40 split and can recline, fold and tumble. The 50/50-split third row has folding headrests.
Generating up to 381 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. of torque is the dual Overhead Cam 32-valve V8 that uses Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and an Acoustic Control Induction System. The 8-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence optimizes it shift logic depending on your speed, throttle input, and incline. Its sequential shift mode let you manually change gears. Delivering a smoother ride are the independent double-wishbone suspension with coil springs and stabilizer bar for the front, and the 4-link suspension with coiled springs, stabilizer bar and semi-floating axle for the rear. Even on the roughest terrain, the front suspension, fuel tanks, radiator and transfer case remain guarded by reinforced skid plates on the underside.
New for the current model year is Toyota Safety Sense⢠P, a suite of driver-assist features such as the following:
Other safety features include a Blind Spot Monitor to tell you when cars have entered your blind zone and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which warns you of vehicles crossing your path as you go into reverse. In case of an accident, side-impact door beams absorb crash energy to prevent intrusion into the passenger area. Up to 10 airbags can deploy including ones for the knees of the driver and front passenger.
