Toyota Avalon Powertrain and Its Performance

If you go with a gasoline-powered Avalon, expect a 3.5-liter V6 that puts out 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque and is pinned to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Paddle shifters are added on the XSE and higher for increased gear-shifting convenience. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an output of 205 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque, as well as an all-wheel drivetrain for better traction performance, are available on the XLE and Limited. The Avalon hybrid relies on a drivetrain that combines the previously mentioned 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, and a continuously variable transmission for an output of 215 horsepower.
