In 2020, the Toyota Corolla returns with an all-new look inside and out. The latest Corolla is the boldest and most futuristic model of the Corolla family yet. You'll find many changes to the Corolla this model year, including a redesigned exterior and new interior seating materials. The latest Corolla also has a longer wheelbase that gives passengers a more comfortable ride and improves its agility. The 2020 Corolla also gets bigger wheels with more choices for a distinctive finish. A more athletic stance and aggressive designs, complete with a bold fascia and front grille, are also notable highlights of the 2020 Corolla. Under the hood, the Corolla gets a more powerful gasoline engine. A second new engine powers the all-new hybrid trim in the latest model year. Drivers have the option for a new paint color this year, and you can look forward to the addition of plenty of new safety features. Newer technology is also a notable feature for the 2020 Toyota Corolla. This technology includes a more comprehensive audio system and smartphone connectivity. Along with the general updates, there are some trim-level changes to look forward as well.
In 2020, there are five trims of the regular gasoline-powered Corolla plus the hybrid. Starting with the base trim, you'll find a pleasant array of amenities and conveniences on each model. At a minimum, you'll get a seven-inch infotainment display screen with Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and smartphone compatibility. Starting with the second-highest trim level, you'll get a the option for a larger eight-inch infotainment screen with hands-free calling and voice recognition. The more enhanced infotainment system also comes with navigation, weather, and traffic information. Along with a more sophisticated infotainment system, the 2020 Toyota Corolla also comes with a more advanced audio system at the higher-level trims. Dual USB charging ports are standard across the board. The Corolla comes standard with 16-inch wheels on the two lower levels, and for the first time it offers 18-inch wheels on the higher-level trims. The Corolla's LED lights take on a different appearance at each trim level so that everyone knows what version of the Corolla you're driving. A chin spoiler, smoke-colored lenses, and stabilizing fins give the sportier trims (the SE and the XSE) a more distinctive appearance.
Along with the standard amenities at each trim level, you'll find a number of options to give your Corolla a custom look too, such as adaptive headlights and ambient interior lighting.
The 2020 Toyota Corolla is made with three engines. The base engine is a four-cylinder that creates up to 139 HP. This engine is the same that powered the Corolla in the past few years. A new engine option for the 2020 model year, however, is a 2.0L engine with four cylinders. This engine creates up to 169 HP. The third engine is the all-new engine for the hybrid. This engine creates up to 121 HP with the gasoline engine and 71 HP with the electric motor. You have a choice of a manual or automatic transmission in all trims.
Safety is certainly not left behind in the 2020 Toyota Corolla. Standard on all trim levels are a series of front and side airbags. Each trim also comes with the Toyota Safety Sense package, which adds a nice array of driver-assist features to the vehicle. These include lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, and forward collision alert with pedestrian detection. The 2020 Corolla also comes with a highway sign recognition system that interprets upcoming highway signs and displays them on the driver's information center.
