The 6th annual Hispanic Motor Press Awards took place this November and Toyota was honored for its continued “commitment to innovation, superior design and appeal to Hispanic families.” The all-new 2016 Toyota Mirai and 2016 Toyota Tacoma were also honored at the awards with the Innovation Award and Best Pickup L-Duty Truck, respectively.

“Hispanic consumers represent a critically important market for Toyota, and we dedicate a great deal of time to understanding how we can design and market our vehicles to meet their needs,” said Jack Hollis, group vice president of Marketing, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “We’re thrilled to receive these awards today, and thank the jurors for recognizing two vehicles that we’re extremely proud to bring to customers.”

The 15 journalists who made up the jury for this year’s awards assessed several different vehicles to come up with their picks for top cars in 2016. The vetting process included market availability, affordability and test drives to see which models stood out among the rest. Jurors also considered everything from comfort and safety to design and overall performance when making their final decisions.

The 2016 Toyota Mirai debuted this fall to rave reviews from critics and fans who were excited to see Toyota once again lead the green car revolution with this fantastic hydrogen fuel cell sedan. The 2016 Toyota Tacoma also met with rave reviews, thanks to its new design and impressive interior amenities.
