In 2020, the Toyota Sequoia gets some fresh new changes and updates inside and out. The latest Sequoia also rolls out onto the market with a new choice of trim level this year, too. The newest available trim is the TRD Pro, which is now the mid-level trim in the lineup. The TRD Pro resembles the TRD Sport in its exterior appearance and off-road-oriented amenities. In total, there are five appealing trims to choose from in the Toyota Sequoia this year. While the new trim has some unique amenities, you'll find other changes that affect all trims of the Sequoia. For the first time, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard in all trims. Starting with the base edition, you can also look forward to a new and improved infotainment display screen in this year's Sequoia. The updated infotainment system now includes a bolder and more visible seven-inch infotainment display. Seating capacity also varies by trim. The first three models seat eight, while the others have seating for seven. All trims have plenty of capacity behind the back row for cargo. With the space that it offers, the Sequoia has one of the largest cargo areas in its class.
The 2020 Sequoia comes in five distinctive trim levels. The base trim, called the SR5, has bench-style seating and room for eight. It gets a standard seven-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This trim features an assortment of additional amenities as well, including a multi-way adjustable driver's seat and comfortable fabric-trimmed seats. If you're looking for slightly more than what the base trim offers standard, you can add on a package that makes the vehicle more comfortable and luxurious. Features available through this package include leather seats and navigation. The second and third trim levels, which are the TRD series, add more sporty features and off-road capabilities. The TRD Sport has mostly the same interior features as the base trim, but it gets more mechanical differences, including Bilstein dampers, a more rigid front end, and anti-roll bars. This trim gets some aesthetic differences such as custom badges and emblems. It also comes with a black-accented roof rack. Next in line is the TRD Pro, which features running boards, sporty Fox shocks, all-weather floor mats, and skid plates. The Limited follows with auto-dimming outer mirrors, a power liftgate, and sunshades in the back. A Blu-ray entertainment system and JBL sound system are optional. The Platinum features heated and ventilated seats and captain's chairs.
All trim levels of the 2020 Toyota Sequoia have the same eight-cylinder engine with a displacement of 5.7L. This engine provides plenty of power and towing capacity. It has a maximum power output of 381 HP and 400 LB-FT of torque. The engine is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission on all trims. Rear-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain, while you can choose four-wheel-drive for any trim.
All trims of the 2020 Toyota Sequoia have an abundance of safety features. Advanced airbags are included in all five trims, as is Toyota's comprehensive driver-assist safety package with blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, lane-departure alert, and more. All trims get a backup camera as well.
