What's New for the 2019 Toyota RAV4?

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 enters its fifth generation of production in 2019. The start of a new generation brings many changes for the Toyota RAV4 inside and out. This year, the RAV4 flaunts a new appearance and upgraded power. Its safety and technology features also get a boost in 2019 to give you more standard safety equipment and premium technology. Toyota RAV4 Trims and Features

There are five trims in the 2019 Toyota RAV4 family, beginning with the base trim level called the LE and continuing up to the Limited. Although the LE is the base trim level, it has a variety of standard features. Technology is impressive even at the base level, with a standard seven-inch touchscreen display at your disposal for music, directions, and more. Bluetooth is included as a base-level feature, and you'll also get a USB charging port. The XLE, which is the second trim, gets four more USB charging ports for five total. It also adds keyless ignition and a push-button start. A sunroof is included on the XLE as well for a brighter cabin. Both trims have 17-inch wheels, although the LE has steel wheels and the XLE has alloy wheels. The XLE Premium has 19-inch wheels and more interior features, including a leather steering wheel and a power liftgate. Simulated leather seats and soft-touch materials on the dashboard give the XLE a sophisticated look and feel. The Adventure trim next in line has a larger eight-inch infotainment screen, custom seat accents, and satellite radio. The Limited trim level adds navigation for an enhanced infotainment system. It also has a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, an 11-speaker sound system, and a panoramic sunroof.

Performance

All RAV4 trims share a four-cylinder 2.5L engine. This year, the RAV4's engine produces 203 HP, nearly 30 HP more than the year before. The engine cranks out 184 LB-FT in total, which is enough for a tow rating of 1,500 pounds or 3,500 pounds on the Adventure.

Safety

The 2019 RAV4 has a standard safety package called Safety Sense 2.0, including lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision alert. A rear cross-traffic alert and a backup camera are added on the higher-level trims.
