2017 Toyota 4Runner Overview

The 2017 Toyota 4Runner in Dallas offers seating for up to five or seven passengers, depending on which model and configuration you choose. There are a total of six to select from, and this year, two of the trims have been renamed to better represent their capabilities. Outside of this change, the 4Runner is primarily the same as last year's example, and continues to be a top choice for buyers in the market for a new midsize SUV.

Six Trims, Off-Road Capabilities

SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, TRD Pro and Limited--these are the six trims buyers can select from when purchasing a 2017 Toyota 4Runner in Dallas. Almost all of the models are available in 4x2 and 4x4 configurations, excluding the TRD options which are only offered in 4x4.

There are a number of great amenities you can find on the new 4Runner, including heated outside mirrors, leather seating, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a backup camera, keyless entry and multiple 12-volt power outlets.

Select versions of the Off-Road models also come with crawl control, Bilstein dampers, updated front springs, skid plates and Nitto Grappler tires, all of which support the 4Runner's off-road capabilities.

V6 Engine

A 270-horsepower V6 engine is outfitted on the 4Runner. It offers 278 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. With this setup, all versions of the 4Runner can tow a maximum of 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Standard Safety Features

A collection of incredible safety technologies is featured on the new 4Runner. Standards include antilock brakes, traction control, stability control, brake assist and Smart Stop Technology. A total of eight airbags are also included on the SUV in order to enhance safety for passengers and drivers.
