Dallas Toyota Dealer Researches the New Prius

The family of Prius is growing. In 2014, we have the original Prius in four trims: two, three, four and five; and also a Prius c (marketed for city-dwellers), Prius v (the big one) and Prius Plug-in (the supreme fuel miser). Prius kicked off the hybrid movement and continues to dominate the green market. Intellichoice has named the Prius Best Overall Value of the Year for the last 11 years in a row. Edmunds 2014 Toyota Prius review touts "superior fuel economy; abundant backseat room; spacious cargo area; comfortable ride; available high-tech options; strong safety scores" as traits that make Prius the "quintessential hybrid car and a solid all-around choice."

The primary reason to buy a Prius is to limit your fuel consumption. Edmunds' test drivers found the EPA estimate of 50mpg combined driving for the 2014 Toyota Prius to be pretty spot-on, so put a big check mark in that box. The fact that you can also check off stylish, roomy, safe, comfortable and connected is just icing on the cake. Standard infotainment on the base model Prius Two includes Bluetooth phone and audio, touchscreen display, 6-speaker sound system, CD player and iPod/USB interface. Other base standard features include heated power mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, auto climate control and 60/40 split-folding rear seat. With the Prius Three, add rearview camera, navigation, voice control and Toyota's Entune app suite. This is not roughing it for the sake of being green!

Advanced proactive safety systems are available with the Prius Five, including adaptive cruise control, pre-collision alert, lane departure warning and a head-up display which helps you get the information you want without taking your attention away from the road ahead.
