Interbrand’s 2016 “Best Global Brands” list has been released and we can proudly report that Toyota has once again been named the most valuable automotive brand. The manufacturer was the only automaker and Asian brand to make it into the top five, making its inclusion even more rewarding.
"We are thrilled to see that Toyota has broken into the top five best global brands,” said Jack Hollis, group vice president of Toyota Division Marketing at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “This ranking is a testament to our commitment to build ever-better safe, exciting and fun-to-drive vehicles. It also speaks to our focus on imagining better ways to move and developing products that address mobility challenges for everyone.”
According to Interbrand, Toyota’s brand value is up 9 percent from 2015, currently sitting at $53.58 billion. This can be largely attributed to the introduction of two new companies under the brand in the past two years: Toyota Connected Inc. and Toyota Research Institute. The former works to provide service development, data management and data analytics solutions, while the latter conducts research in the fields of materials science, artificial intelligence and robotics.
As one of the biggest automotive brands in the world, Toyota continues to lead the way in innovation and sustainability. With this in mind, we are excited to see them land in the top five on Interbrand’s Blest Global Brands list and we hope to see them continue to rise up the ranks in the future!
