Toyota and its subsidiaries received the highest number of “Top Safety Pick+” awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The automaker picked up nine awards for its most popular 2016 models, including the RAV4, Camry, Prius v and Avalon. All winners received not only a high initial safety rating, but also a top rating for their front crash prevention system, which is required to earn a “plus” designation.
