A brand-new green car is coming to Toyota’s lineup: the RAV4 Hybrid. Debuting at the New York Auto Show this April, the new 2016 RAV4 Hybrid is the automaker’s most recent foray into the hybrid segment. This newest version of the RAV4 marks Toyota’s eighth hybrid offering since it released the Prius 15 years ago.

Initial reports out of New York indicate that the RAV4 Hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, with both axles powered by a standard Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel-Drive system. This powerplant should get around 176 horsepower, according to the automaker. The new hybrid engine should also provide increased fuel economy and quicker acceleration times.

Visible hybrid badging separates the new RAV4 hybrid from its gas-only cousin, as does new LED taillights. The crossover will also be more aggressively styled, with a change to the car’s nose, as well as reshaped headlights and a redesigned lower bumper. Inside, the car showcases higher-end materials, better cupholders and even a USB port.

The current 2015 RAV4 is one of the most popular crossover models on the road today. Boasting a comfortable interior, a wide selection of tech amenities and tons of safety features, the 2015 RAV4 has charmed its way into many hearts and homes. If you’re looking for a terrific family crossover here in Dallas, we highly recommend stopping our Dallas Toyota dealership to take this fantastic crossover for a test drive.

The all-new 2016 RAV4 Hybrid should arrive sometime this fall. For more information about either model of the RAV4, contact us at Toyota of Dallas today!
