Toyota has been garnering tons of praise thanks to their all-new Mirai hydrogen fuel cell design. Most recently, the Japanese automaker has been recognized by “Fast Company.” The business and tech magazine named Toyota as one of the “Most Innovative Companies for 2015” in large part for Toyota’s new Mirai design.
“Toyota plans to do for fuel cells what its Prius did for hybrids: make them ubiquitous and top of mind for environmentally conscious consumers,” “Fast Company” said.
As the world’s first mass-market hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the Toyota Mirai is set to come to the U.S. this fall. Sedan shoppers in Dallas will find that this mid-size four-door car comes with the same interior comfort and luxury as the rest of Toyota’s sedan lineup, but with a terrific fuel cell powertrain that emits nothing but water vapor. Like the rest of Toyota’s fantastic green line of cars, the Mirai has an impressive driving range, as well as a small refuel time.
Fast Company was also very impressed with how Toyota was able to take the Mirai from the concept stages to actual production model in such a short time.
“While other automakers are experimenting with fuel cells as niche vehicles, Toyota is the only one to engineer a global release, making all of its fuel-cell components in house.”
